Cheeky Boys

Feeding these two cheeky Donkeys is a whole lot of fun. They are so mischievous. I filled the ball they are playing with with little goodies they like. They soon learned if they roll it the food comes out of the bottom. I stayed on the other side of the fence as they do get a little competitive.

On the way home I stopped to talk to my very good friend Remolina the most adorable Shetland pony I have ever met. She is so calm and cuddly.  She was chatting to the pigs. NOW you may think thats a bit nuts but it's not I often see them having a chat.

Scrumping for Pomegranates.

Well with all the hype about how good Pomegranates are for you we decided to go scrumping for some. The huge tree by the side of the spring up the mountain has lots on it. The sad thing is they are just left to fall on the floor or burst open and rot. So we were doing a good turn liberating them weren't we?
We had great fun knocking them down not as easy as you may think I nearly fell in the well a few times.
The spring comes out of the mountain and into a kind of tank well thingie. Gives me the creeps a bit to tell the truth.

Our wonderful gleanings, they are so juicy this is a before photo.
Now a word of warning if you do decide to juice  them don't clean the kitchen before. They sort of explode even using my fabby dabby juicer it seemed to get everywhere. Quite a pretty colour though.
This much juice from just half of those in the photo. Yummy.

Gathering Wood

It was so beautiful this morning we decided to go to do a bit of hunter gathering. Well gathering anyway. After the lake has gone down a little there is alway loads of wood left on the side, all the broken branches that have fallen into the rivers that run into the lake all end up on the side ready for us to go collect them. Trouble is once you start you can't stop it's addictive and gets really competitive. Look at this one he shouts  this one is bigger I shout back, and so it goes on until we are both exhausted and ready for the coffee and cake we brought with us.

This is the lane to our casa. It's about 40 c in the shade today a good excuse to stay in and build my blog.
We are up for sale now as we are hoping to move to Australia to be with our girls. We love our beautiful casa but miss the girls so much. Time just fly's doesn't it?  If you would like to see the rest of the casa I have put the link in here  http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/109502581/country-house-finca-area-of-lake-iznajarcordobaspain.html
It is such a wonderful place to live so peaceful and quiet. Inland Andalusia is so different from the costa's. In the spring the lanes are full of wild flowers and Asparagus.  The people are friendly and the most helpful neigbours I have ever come across. They give you a feeling of belonging to an extended family.
Our Spanish is by no stretch of the imagination perfect, but instead of being impatient they just try really hard to understand what you are wittering on about. Mind you if I go to any other part of Spain they can't understand my very local dialect. I learned most of my Spanish from " The Ladies What Walk" That's my nick name for the lovely group of women that walk along the lane past our casa each day.  I join them often and try my best to join in the chattering. Sometimes when I get the jist of the topic wrong I see them try not to smile and sometimes they just burst out laughing. I will miss them allot.
Most have had a hard life but would share their last loaf with  you.
Welcome to my first blog. I thought I would start by introducing two of my little garden friends. This is Mr and Mrs liz They live in the hedge by my terrace and love to watch us doing the garden, we have to watch where we put our feet as they are so tame.
